BioMar UK have recently launched paid volunteering time for all employees. This is in an effort to make a positive difference to the local community, doing things like supporting schools & clubs, maintaining public spaces & raising money for charities. As we are based in Grangemouth, we would like to support our local area. If there is anything we can get involved in, please let us know by emailing holmc@biomar.com. Additionally, as part of our corporate social responsibility, we have a safe space if anyone would like to give feedback on BioMar UK, which can be done using our new community button here: https://lnkd.in/dEMJu9Fk

One of the most common (and unfortunately extremely inaccurate) claims opponents of aquaculture make is that “it takes 10kg of fish to grow 1kg of salmon (or whatever species)”. BioMar led significant rebukes to a recent documentary (I refuse to name it) that perpetuated these outrageous claims.. (read more about that here: https://lnkd.in/gvctHnS8) .. and are again showing the amazing work that can be done to make #aquaculture a highly #sustainable source of #protein. There’s so much misinformation out there on what is basic knowledge in the industry, it’s great to see companies making a difference and sharing their stories!
