💡Time for a fun fact! Shrimp are actually quite skilled at swimming. They can propel themselves backwards quickly by flexing the muscles of their abdomen and tail, or swim forward using their tail. At Skretting, we have developed products for several types of shrimp, including black tiger shrimp and whiteleg shrimp (pictured below). 🤝Transparency is key when we are working together towards a more sustainable future. That’s why in our Impact Report 2023, we are disclosing more information than ever before: from the amount of cases reported through our whistleblower and grievances system to the disclosure of absolute numbers on the scope 1, 2 and 3 and carbon footprint per ton of feed for global and local operations, among others. Summer is upon us, and as water temperatures rise, so do challenges for fish and fish farmers. 🌡️ By investing signficantly in R&D to identify the nutritional needs of fish in different environmental conditions, we developed specifically designed functional feeds that, when used in a holistic approach, can limit impact during periods of high temperatures: HT and HTO2. 🛡️ "We continue to invest in R&D aimed at building on our understanding of how fish react to environmental conditions, and how we can best support them using optimal and tailored nutrition, " said Anna Hesby Nessa, Global Product Manager Health, Skretting. Happy World Population Day! Skretting's purpose is Feeding the Future, and as an essential link in the feed-to-food chain, we must meet the rising food needs of the world in a sustainable manner. In 2023, Skretting contributed to the production of over 26 million portions of seafood meals per day across the globe. However, the world population is set to reach 10 billion, and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that to feed this many people, global food production will need to increase by about 60% by 2050! #feedingthefuture #sustainability #aquafeed

Sustainability Reports are nothing new, and neither are Impact Reports. Nonetheless, we’ve made the switch from the former to the latter. Because ultimately everything we do has an impact on the environment and on society, and we want to be accountable for that. This year, we’ve asked colleagues from all over the world to reflect on what sustainability in Skretting means to them. Each voice was loud and clear. What’s also loud and clear is that we make the biggest impact when we’re together. You heard them – read more in our Impact Report: https://lnkd.in/d3GrekKj A big thank you to the partners who contributed to this report!
