It's hard to miss the impact of fragile #FoodSystems on food prices and food availability over the past years. Bayer is contributing to #FoodSecurity and strengthening local food supplies through #innovation and trade. #TeamBayer

#RegenerativeAgriculture – farming that restores #SoilHealth, conserves #water and fights #ClimateChange – is the way of the future. And one of Bayer's important goals is to scale up regenerative practices to make a big difference in restoring Earth’s resources. But what does “scaling regenerative agriculture” really mean? And what kind of collaborations are making it happen at #TeamBayer and beyond?

What’s not to love about a passionate farmer? 🧑🌾⚽ One of our neighbors near #TeamBayer's Crop Science headquarters in Monheim, Germany transformed his #corn field into a stunning tribute to the Bayer @Leverkusen 04 football club. A great way to celebrate the #Werkself.

"Platforms like the The Wall Street Journal's Global Food Forum are so important. It's where leaders from across the food value chain -- from seed to table -- come together on the state of #food and #agriculture."
Creating connections and talking collaboration always energizes me, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to do both this week The Wall Street Journal Global Food Forum in Chicago. Platforms like the Forum are so important, because it’s where leaders from across the food chain – from seed to table, quite literally – can come together to share diverse perspectives on the state of food and agriculture. We discussed trends and innovations that shape what’s on our plates, the changing needs and expectations of our myriad customers and the challenges facing us all as we seek to improve global food systems and feed a growing world population ever more sustainably. And all this in the face of existential threats like climate change, geopolitical instability, creeping inflation and more. Few things have the power to shape our planet on the scale that food does. The vast size of our food system means it can be one of the greatest drivers for positive societal change. But to get to a place where the production of food can be truly regenerative and hunger and malnutrition are things of the past, we will need all parties working together in common purpose -- farmers, food and ag companies, financiers, policymakers, NGOs, and every other stakeholder along the value chain. The Global Food Forum is a fantastic catalyst for this kind of collaboration. A personal highlight for me was the opportunity to chat with The WSJ Trust’s Christine Kashkari about innovating for tomorrow’s food systems, during which I shared some of the creative collaborations Bayer has with partners like ADM, Perdue AgriBusiness, and others to enable #regenerativeagricuture practices on farms that can turn into real sustainability progress for companies. We’re proud of the work we’re doing to advance and scale secure, regenerative, and systemic solutions for the global food chain. I'm confident that with more moments like #WSJFOOD, our industry can continue to drive positive impacts for food systems, for farmers and for the planet. Thanks to the WSJ for bringing the industry together and enabling this outstanding opportunity for exchange.
