Rockford's new cultural plan has been unveiled! "The Rockford Area Arts Council on Thursday night revealed the city’s first ever cultural plan, which lays out strategies for weaving arts and culture into everything from economic development initiatives to education. The arts council worked with consulting firm Lord Cultural Resources to develop the plan. Eve-Laure Moros Ortega, lead with Lord Cultural Resources, praised the communities buy-in to investing in the arts and developing the plan. 'It is building on the all of the strengths that you have,' she said. 'This plan will elevate that, will amplify it, will push that further.'"

We're so proud of our work on the Rockford Region Cultural Plan. Look for the big reveal on July 11th, and read more about our role and what to expect in this wonderful piece by Mary McNamara Bernsten. Thanks to our incredible team leading the way! Eve-Laure Moros Ortega, M.P.A. Tiffany Lyons Valerie Guevara. "The Arts Council consulted with Lord Cultural Resources whose mission statement is ‘making the world a better place through culture’, and that starts from within their team. We’ve had the honor of working with a powerhouse team from Lord. They’ve impressed city officials, community leaders, and Rockford Region residents with their knowledge of Rockford’s history and their Rockford current events proficiency — I hear about regional wins from the Lord team before they hit our media’s websites."

Thanks so much to everyone who made this year’s American Alliance of Museums conference in Baltimore such a huge success. We had a wonderful time catching up with past and current clients and meeting some new faces. We had fantastic book signings for Brad King's New Directions in University Museums and Gail Lord's Manual of Museum Management for Museums in Dynamic Change. Then onto two packed sessions: Natalie Bornstein's “Empowering Community: A Museum’s Role in Economic Revitalization” with Baye Adofo-Wilson, Esq., AICP, and Gail's workshop “Toward a More Human Museum: Trust and Well-being for Staff and Visitors” with Susie Wilkening (Wilkening Consulting), John G Hampton (Mackenzie Art Gallery), Christy S. Coleman (Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation) and Yvonne Tang. Throughout our time, so many people dropped by our booth to meet and congratulate our new President and Managing Partner, Joy Bailey-Bryant. Thanks to you all. Until next year, AAM!
