On the water and around the world, COVE propels Canada's marine innovation. COVE is where ideas become solutions, technologies become ventures, and opportunities become careers. We connect people, ideas, resources and assets to propel solutions and sustainable growth for Canada's marine sector. Our facilities, spanning 51,000 square meters along the waterfront in Canada's deepest harbour, provide the best space in the world to turn ideas into commercial solutions. Ocean technology companies, post-secondary researchers, and marine-based service businesses come to COVE for programming and short- and long-term tenancies. Our facility features offices, shared workspaces, social and community spaces, and workshops equipped with electrical capabilities, all designed to foster a dynamic ecosystem. Here, small and medium-sized enterprises, along with development teams from larger corporations, converge to form a collaborative commercial community. COVE's marine terminal offers excellent vessel accommodation with water depths ranging from 4 to 15 meters and crane access up to 200 tons. The site includes floating docks, wharf face, and finger piers, with year-round access to utilities and secure parking. It also provides easy connections to the community and amenities, along with 2 acres for operational and storage needs. COVE demonstrates its commitment to environmental stewardship with dedicated charging points for electric-powered vessels.

    🚀 Empowering the Next Generation of Marine Innovation 🌊 Kat Mataya, Manager of Workforce Development at COVE, combines her background in environmental science and passion for education to inspire the next generation of marine innovators. With a Bachelor of Science from Queens University and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management from Niagara College, Kat's journey began with research and teaching in South America. Joining COVE in June 2022, she has significantly advanced workforce development initiatives, including the highly successful COVE Internship Program and the OffshoreWind4Kids program, which promotes marine renewable energy education. Kat also leads the Ocean Institute: Deep Dive into Data workshops, enhancing ocean data-based learning for teachers. Her leadership has increased awareness, engagement, and opportunities in the marine sector, driving sustainable marine environments and shaping future marine technology education.     Nova Scotia's ambitious plan to introduce offshore wind power aims to triple the province's current total energy output of 2.5 gigawatts. Meeting this goal requires a skilled and knowledgeable workforce for the future by inspiring young minds to explore and pursue careers in the growing marine technology and sustainable energy industries. COVE has responded to that goal by delivering programs that promote marine renewable energy education and awareness among youth, nurturing the next generation of leaders who will drive Canada’s transition to a net-zero future - programs such as the OffshoreWind4Kids Interactive Showcase.
