    75342-1: Republic Fighter Tank

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

I picked this up on my birthday before the set retired. I had been wanting it for quite a while but never had the chance.

In terms of building and parts, the tiny armour plates can get a bit repetitive but nothing too bad. I did notice once you attach the cannons with the spring-loaded shooters, they can be a bit flimsy. I also wished it had two things: a little computer or controls for the clone in the bottom cockpit, since it feels rather empty, and more room up top because when you add a clone in the top cockpit, it doesn't let the hatch close. The silver antennas also come off easily, so a round open hole stud should help keep them in place.

For minifigures, they look amazing! Battle droids are nothing special, but you get two of them. Mace Windu looks amazing! He has lovely amounts of details, most notably his arm printing. The 187th clones looks awesome too, especially considering they are from Legends material. Really love the purple on them! The 187th commander looks awesome too, and has a unique Paratrooper helmet. Though the kama is printed only on the front, which could have been easily solvable by printing on the side of the legs or a cloth kama.

Overall, this is a pretty cool looking set. I know a lot of people say it's rather inaccurate, but it still nonetheless looks pretty solid. Would absolutely recommend getting, and definitely worth getting those 187th clones, hope Lego continues to make more niche clone factions in the future.

When I heard about the new mechs, I was iffy, but I really liked how Boba Fett’s came out, which worked great since I got it for Christmas!

The build is pretty cool looking, really like the jetpack and the blaster. It also comes with some clips to store Boba’s minifigure blaster. For parts, it has a lot of unique pieces and colors.

For the Boba minifigure, immaculate! The helmet, body and arm printing are stellar and he comes with a brand new head that looks great! Hands down, in my opinion, the best minifigure of 2023! The only downside is his pauldron not being present, but if it was, it would have been the best Boba Fett figure to date, Lego did a stellar job!

Overall, the mech is good, I can definitely see younger kids having fun with it. That Boba Fett figure is outstanding! I do recommend getting this as it has a lot of good stuff. If Lego keeps doing these mechs with cheap ways to get highly detailed figures, then god damn it I want one of Jango Fett!

    75359-1: 332nd Ahsoka's Clone Trooper Battle Pack

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

At long last, a 332nd battle pack! Glad they’re now much more available compared to only one being in the AAT. I won’t count helmet holes as a flaw since I’m completely fine with them, but that’s being said, this one has gained some controversy, but anyway, let’s dive in!

In terms of building, I must say, it’s rather unique. A swamp speeder usually doesn’t come to mind when I think of the Siege of Mandalore, but it’s something unique as we gotten some tanks, walkers and Barc speeders a lot recently. It also comes with a little cannon, which strangely enough reminds a bit of Terrako (that Egg Guardian from Zelda). But it’s a rather unique build, and I’m happy for it. Also comes with stud shooters to flick.

In terms of parts, there are some useful parts, along with rangefinders and visors. But most importantly, JETPACKS! Very happy we got more of them in this set!

For minifigures, it’s a great army builder (also the render show the black one the helmet really thick, but luckily the actual product is thin like normal, renders did them dirty). You get 3 generic troopers, two come with jetpacks, which make for easy army building. Now, here’s the thing. There’s part of me that I don’t really like the Captain Vaughn included but also understands why he was made the way he is. The things I did wish he had was a helmet akin to Commander Cody (or 212th Gunner or 501st Heavy), light gray on the torso and parts of his belt, and blue arms (which you can actually do if you have them, I did to mine and he stands out much better). Personally, it should have been a generic trooper for easier army building (or possibly a Mandalorian Super Commando, now that would be awesome to have), save Vaughn for another time like a book or a polybag build or something else.

Overall, it’s a great army builder that gets way too much hate. A perfect way to build a 332nd army! Though like said, Vaughn should be saved for later and include a generic trooper or a Super Commando. But pretty underrated due to the controversy surrounding it, I recommend it if you wish to army build the 332nd Company!

75345-1: 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

Honestly, this was a really dope looking set that I was pretty excited for. However, I would complain that Lego didn’t include the 2003 Clone Wars for their CW 20th anniversary campaign but included Battlefront, but I will not count that as a flaw due to it being a personal reason. Also not counting the helmet holes since I’m completely fine with them. But honestly, there’s a lot of exciting stuff to look forward to in this set.

In terms of building, it was pretty decent. I like how it’s a mini version of a tank shown in Clone Wars, so something unique. It comes with a spring loaded shooter which is neat. The legs can move it too easily at times so pay to mind. I did wish you can secure the clone on the seat, since it could easily fall off.

In terms of parts, oh boy, it’s very lovely! Macrobinoculars finally make their debut, though I do wish there was a printed black line so it’s less bland looking. The rangefinders and visors look lovely in the vibrant blue color. Also backpacks are a warming welcome, but I wish they gave us an extra neck bracket considering it comes with 3 printed tiles for the backpack (one is the extra piece). But overall, very happy with the cool pieces!

The minifigures I must say are pretty damn awesome! The officer looks great, with my favorite part is his two blasters and his blue belt. He does have a printed waistcape only on the front, which Lego should have done side leg printing or a cloth kama. The heavy trooper is by far my favorite! I absolutely love the top printing of the helmet and combined with the blue visor just looks so good! Also love the torso printing and that it wears a backpack. Not an issue per say, but I did wish one of them would hold a machine gun of sorts, that would be dope! The specialist looks great too! The binoculars look absolutely amazing on him and he has blue arms (which I prefer compared to the standard white arms)!

Overall, while not the best army builder, but still an awesome set to have with tons of lovely and useful parts, all for a good price. Definitely worth picking up, maybe even a few just simply for the cool parts.

    75312-1: Boba Fett's Starship

Written by (AFOL) in United States,

Regardless of the name change,I'm still going to call it Slave I. This was a set that I was excited for when I heard about it. I wanted Slave I for a while now, but I missed the pass ones, plus they were expensive. So when this came, I had to get it (though at a later time). Building experience was okay, had trouble with the long bottom part of the ship where the guns are at because some parts together were very easy to fall apart, along with it being in a small, odd space. It has some neat looking parts, but they did a good job downsizing it. For figures, Mando isn't special but a great figure, he also has his beskar spear which is neat. I really like the Boba Fett. The arm printing is very sleek and looks nice. Really love his head, and the new tan skin tone makes it a thousand times better. Now I know people weren't happy with the helmet and jetpack being sand green instead of dark green like the torso, but I honestly don't care for it, I'm just happy we got the Mando version of Boba. Very playable! There is a hook you can hold, making it very versatile to move the ship around. There are also stud shooters, the wings move a bit and the guns at the bottom are adjustable. The little vehicle thing does help for display, but I enjoy having ship facing up like how it looks landing. There's also a little storage area that can hold the carbonite brick, and the design of the sticker is neat. However, I kinda wish they made a little dispenser for seismic charges, that would have been cool. But overall I'd say it's definitely worth the $50. I know it's not the best Slave I we have and some may not like due to being inferior to the UCS version, but I really like it. Definitely recommend if you missed out on the previous versions. Hopefully we'll get one of Jango Fett soon.
