🌿 Why is it so important to promote and invest in Next-Gen Materials? Because the future of our planet depends on it. 🌿 More than ever, the world needs to make urgent changes in the way we produce, consume, and approach materials and natural resources. When we analyze the fashion industry, 80% of the carbon footprint of a fashion brand comes from the materials used. Consider the impact of leather: its production process is extremely toxic for humans and the environment due to the high usage of chrome, aluminum, and other harmful chemicals. The worst part? It's one of the main reasons for deforestation! The Amazon rainforest, the lung of the world, loses the equivalent of 3,000 soccer fields in deforestation daily mostly due to cattle farming. 😱 That's why we need new, cleaner material alternatives to leather and plastic. We must reinvent the materials industry in order to regenerate the planet. By using Mabe Bio’s plant-based materials, you're choosing products that use 90% less water, contain no plastics or petrochemicals, are cruelty-free, and instead of destroying, they help to regenerate the planet with their high carbon-fix properties. By choosing our Angico bioleather, you're opting for a powerful plant-based material that not only has reforestation capabilities but also generate income for rural and indigenous communities. Native to Brazil and abundant in the Amazon forest, Angico is a sustainable and impactful choice. Make the change today. Choose sustainability. Choose Mabe Bio. #Sustainability #NextGenMaterials #AngicoBioleather #MabeBio #Deforestation #EcoFriendly #SustainableFashion #GreenTech #CircularEconomy

🌿 Celebrating Brazil Forest Protection Day with Mabe Bio! 🌿 Today, July 17, is Forest Protection Day in Brazil! As an innovative nature-based solution startup, we not only celebrate but also actively work towards forest protection. At Mabe Bio, we are reinventing the production cycle by creating new, cleaner materials through a regenerative and plant-based production model that respects and re-empowers the cycle of nature, helping to decarbonize the planet. This unique biodiversity offers endless possibilities for sustainable solutions that can transform industries and reduce environmental impacts. One of our key resources is the Angico tree, that besides all the carbon fixation and forest recovery capacity, also hold significant ancestral, spiritual, and medicinal value for indigenous tribes and people. Historically, the Angico tree has been used for its healing properties and as a symbol of resilience and connection to nature. By integrating such traditional knowledge with modern technology, we honor and preserve the cultural heritage while innovating for a sustainable future. We believe in regenerative production. We believe in profitable regeneration. Because we believe the future is plant-based! 🌱 #Sustainability #Bioleather #Bioplastic #BrazilianBiodiversity #EcoFriendly #SustainableFashion #MabeBio #GreenInnovation #AngicoPlant #Amazon

🌿 Unlocking the Power of Angico with Mabe Bio 🌿 At Mabe Bio, we harness the extraordinary richness of Brazilian biodiversity to create innovative plant-based materials, such as bioleather and bioplastic. Our primary ingredient? The versatile Angico plant. Native to South America and thriving in five Brazilian biomes —Amazonia, Caatinga, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica, and Pampa — Angico is a true ecological powerhouse. Its rapid growth and high CO2 fixation capacity make it ideal for reforestation projects, particularly in degraded lands and forest recovery. Here’s why Angico stands out: 🌱 Pioneer Species: Due to its rapid growth and adaptability, Angico is used to initiate tree planting, making it perfect for forest recovery projects. 🌍 CO2 Fixation: Among the 14 native species used in forest recovery, four are Angico, known for their high carbon capture. A fast-growing Angico can store about 450 kg of carbon, significantly more than slower-growing species. By utilizing the Angico plant, we are pioneering a path to create alternatives to traditional animal leather and conventional plastics. Stay tuned for more informations about Angico and join us in revolutionizing the fashion and materials industry with sustainable innovations. What an inspiring day it has been alongside various actors in the field of climate innovation. Thank you for listening, reflecting, and engaging in exchanges. I am sure there's a bright and exciting future ahead!
What a great week of meetings and exchanges to foster the #climatech ecosystem in Brazil! Climate-KIC, GIZ Brasil, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH joined forces to meet with key organizations promoting climate innovations to explore, among other synergies, the possibility of expanding our work in the country. It is impossible not to get inspired by so much energy and purpose from Brazilian ESOs, startups, investors, and the whole community working hard to create solutions for the multiple challenges posed by the climate crisis. With the increasing impacts we are already experiencing, supporting those putting their energy and knowledge into building a better future is even more important. The road ahead is long, but we are off to a great start! How does your organization support climate innovation? Who else should be part of this conversation?
