❗ The Electricity Market Design creates an obligation for Member States to estimate their needs for flexibility for a period of 5 to 10 years. A similar assessment will also be performed at EU-level. This will enable governments to be able to decide how much to invest and where. ➡ To make sure that those assessment are reflecting system needs, and guiding investments in the most effective resource allocation, we need to make sure that the methodology used reflects all the services provided by energy storage at different timescales and that the voice of all stakeholders is heard. For this reason on 24 September, the Energy Storage Coalition will host an interactive discussion between the entities involved in this process, the European Commission, academics, and industry experts.
