My name is Zac Wilson. I was born and raised in Utah, served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York City and Long Island, attended Brigham Young University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in finance while serving as President of the Finance Society and Program Director for Student Alumni. After school I moved back to the Big Apple to work in the finance industry for a time. I have since moved back to the great state of Utah; it is great to be home. I am an eternal optimist and incredibly proud to be an American.

  • Return our government's focus to constitutional federalism, limited government, and free enterprise. Increasingly, decisions that should be made by your senators and representatives are being made by unelected officials. We have seen agencies flex their bureaucratic muscles and exert an outsized influence on Americans. The only decisions that should be made in Washington D.C. are decisions that cannot be made at the state level, and the only decisions made at the state level should be decisions that cannot be made at the local level. The border crisis is one of the few issues our federal elected officials should be managing, and they are not.
  • Rein in the federal government's disastrous spending habits and bring Utah's fiscal conservatism to Washington. I am gravely concerned about the burgeoning debt and deficit in this country. It is unconscionable that all Americans, but especially folks my age and younger, have 34 trillion dollars hanging above their heads. That means over $260k of debt per taxpayer! Soon all tax revenue will be used to fund only entitlements and debt service. If we do not restore limited government principles to our nation's budget, we won't have the luxury of debating other topics. I pledge to take my private sector experience and deep understanding of the macroeconomy, inflation, rates, and financial markets to our nation's capital.
  • Restore a sense of American idealism in young people and optimistically engage the next generation of voters. I am running to fill the vacuum of young Republican leadership in Washington D.C. Utah’s average age is the lowest in the nation. Given my age, I uniquely understand our young district. While college campuses around the country fill young people’s minds with disastrous anti-work, anti-achievement, and anti-American ideology, Utah can make a difference by ensuring we have a young, conservative voice in our nation's capital. The future of our great country hangs on the Republican Party’s ability to energize and engage Millennial and Gen Z voters.

Economy, Taxes, Deficit, National Defense, Energy, Education, Immigration

After running a successful Salt Lake County chapter of the Young Republicans, I was grateful to be elected as the state chair of the Young Republicans. In this position, I represent Utah at national events, sit on the Young Republican National Federation Finance Committee, and oversee Utah's growth and engagement strategies.

Every day, my team and I push to make Utah the most robust and successful chapter of Young Republicans in the country. Our success is Utah's success.
