I am a businesswoman from the westside of Salt Lake, a mother of three, grandmother of two, and a neighbor who is committed to listening. I understand many of the challenges we face in our District (Taylorsville and West Jordan). My journey from young, working mom to seasoned business leader has given me a fresh perspective on how to represent working families in Utah’s Legislature.

My experience raising a family in Utah has shown me firsthand how government actions impact our lives. I've been active in the community since the 90s, and I work with local chambers of commerce, volunteer with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake, Trauma-Informed Utah, and more.

Running as an Independent candidate, I am focused on solutions, not politics. My healthcare industry experience will guide me in addressing key issues like housing affordability, public safety, education, and healthcare. I'm a practical doer, committed to results over party debates.

I'm a leader who understands both the business world and family life challenges in our district.

  • It is time that elected representatives remember who has entrusted them with the stewardship of the seat that they temporarily occupy, that they remember whose interests they are supposed to represent. That is my commitment: to represent the people of District 16 and Utah as a whole, to represent first and foremost the interests of the working families and individual people of our community. You should not need to be powerful or wealthy to get the attention of and benefit from the work of our legislators.
  • The tax burden has been shifted to the working families of our communities over the last 40 years, and it's hurting our ability to raise up the next generation. The way we're going, our children and grandchildren won't be able to afford to live in Utah. This didn't happen by accident. It happened over decades of the legislature not acting in the best interests of regular people. It has drawn district lines to ensure that the powerful, the wealthy, and the connected stay in power and are free to represent the will of special interests and big corporations, instead of the people. I will make decisions by asking, "is this best for working families and small business owners?"
  • Housing affordability, manageable cost of living, access to high quality, affordable childcare, healthy neighborhood schools, access to high quality, affordable healthcare, and representatives who listen to and act in the best interests of people are the hallmarks of effective, representative government, where the legislature is made up of the same kind of diversity that our communities are. Utah deserves to have a legislature like this. The ugly and divisive nature of our current politics is hurting regular people and that is why I am committed first and foremost to the representation of regular people who are the backbone of our state and our country - not party politics that are designed to serve the interests of those already in power.

Responsible taxation and investment of tax dollars, representative government that is required to listen to and look out for the people.

Our government is of the people, by the people, for the people. Elected officials need to be accountable to remember that and to operate by that wisdom. Honesty, integrity, courage, wisdom, accountability.

To listen, to understand, to weigh all the options and make the best decisions for our community today and for the future holistically, being mindful of the importance of every person in our community.

I grew up in Rose Park, in a family that struggled to afford basic things. My dad left when I was 4 and my mom struggled to make ends meet. I became a mother myself as a teenager and worked hard to find my way. Looking back on those years, having now been married for 27 years and having worked with my husband and family to build a stable, loving home that doesn't have to worry as much about those things, I am grateful for the upward mobility of the American dream that I was able to benefit from. I want to make that available to more people.

I believe that those who are entrusted with the responsibility to care for the public's resources and wellbeing should operate in the light of day, fully accountable for their actions.
