Don Ipson (Republican Party) is a member of the Utah State Senate, representing District 29. He assumed office on September 21, 2016. His current term ends on January 1, 2025.
Ipson (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the Utah State Senate to represent District 29. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. He advanced from the Republican primary on June 25, 2024.
He was first appointed to the chamber to replace Stephen Urquhart (R), who resigned on September 9, 2016.[1]
Ipson served in the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 75 from 2009 to 2016. He served as assistant majority whip from 2013 to 2014.
Biography
Ipson earned his bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting from the Latter-Day Saints Business College. Ipson is a businessman.

Elections for the Utah House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 20, 2014. Cheryl Hawker was unopposed in the Democratic convention. Incumbent Don Ipson was unopposed in the Republican convention. Nihla Judd ran as an Independent American candidate. Ipson defeated Hawker and Judd in the general election.[5]

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. The Sutherland Institute Scorecard
The Sutherland Institute, "a conservative public policy think tank" in Utah, releases its Scorecard for Utah State Representatives and Senators once a year. The Score Card gives each legislator a score based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on specific issues which the Sutherland Institute thought were pro-conservative policies.[13]
