Greg Martin (Republican Party) is a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 26. He assumed office on April 4, 2022. His current term ends on November 5, 2024.
Martin (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives to represent District 26. He is on the ballot in the Republican primary on August 1, 2024.[source]
The Hamilton County Commission appointed Martin to the state House on March 30, 2022, to replace Robin Smith (R).[1]
Martin was the District 3 member of the Hamilton County Board of Education in Tennessee. He was first appointed to the board on March 29, 2012, and he resigned from the position in November 2016 after he was elected to the Hamilton County Commission.[2][3]
Biography
A resident of Hamilton County, Tennessee, Martin graduated from Hixson High School before earning a B.A. from Bryan College and both a master's degree and a doctoral degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He started working as the family service manager for Lakewood Memory Gardens and Hamilton County Memorial Park in 1999.[4]

2014
The general election in Hamilton County featured five seats up for election on August 7, 2014. Greg Martin won re-election in District 3 against Jim Watson. Karitsa Mosley won the open District 5 race against fellow newcomers Richard K. Bennett, Samuel Blakemore, Patrick D. Hampton, Cynthia Stanley-Cash, Jacqueline A. Thomas and Yashika Ward. Incumbent Joe Galloway won re-election, defeating newcomers Oscar Brock and C. Ballard Scearce, Jr. in District 6. The District 8 race was won by incumbent David Testerman, who defeated challenger Samevelyn Morgan Rock. Newcomer Steve Highlander won the open District 9 seat, defeating Karen Farrow, Larry Lewis, Dean Moorhouse and Tim White.

Funding
Martin began the race with an existing account balance of $1,100.00. He reported $4,400.00 in contributions and $410.00 in expenditures to the Hamilton County Election Commission during the election, which left his campaign with $5,090.00 on hand.[5]

|Greg Martin was appointed to the unexpired term of District 26 in the Tennessee General Assembly in March of 2022. Previously he served his community as a County Commissioner and the a School Board Member for District 3. He also served on the Long Beach, MS School Board from 1993 to 1996.
Martin is a 1981 graduate of Hixson High School, has a B.A. Degree from Bryan College, and Masters and Doctoral Degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Martin and his wife Sheila have four sons, Ben, Austin, Jay, and Peyton. He is the son of Dianne Killough Martin and the late John Martin, both of Hixson.
Martin is a member of the Hixson Kiwanis and is the immediate past president of the Hixson civic club. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Adult and Teen Challenge of the Mid South. He is on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Friends of Hixson. He was inducted into the Hixson High School Hall of Fame in 2018. He previously served two terms on the Hixson Council of the Chamber of Commerce. He is active in his church, Calvary Chapel Northside. Martin is a realtor with Berkshire Home Services Realty Center.
- Public Safety - I am committed to safe homes, neighborhoods, and schools. Those that protect us deserve the best equipment, good benefits, and a fair wages. I will always support our first responders. If you have to be your own first responder, I will always defend your 2nd Amendment rights..
- Economic Development/Jobs - I am a committed capitalist. Government has a responsibility to provide roads, schools, sewers, and other infrastructure where businesses can thrive to provide economic opportunity for our citizens. I know that more people realize the American Dream from Main Street than Wall Street. I will always work to help small business owners be competitive in the market place.
- Public Education - The best schools are the ones where parents are engaged in their children's education. Parents need numerous choices in public education for their family.
Drug overdoses in our community. 70,000 Tennesseans are addicted to opioids and heroin. There is not a family in our state that has not been effected by this epidemic. I want to work with others towards common sense solutions that are based on positive outcomes for the betterment of Tennessee families.
