  • On Monday, we welcomed the Australia-based partners of our Off-Grid Renewable Energy Partnerships in the Pacific and Timor-Leste to a special event in Sydney.   The event, which was hosted by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP), included a workshop with partners to provide them with an opportunity to learn more about other partnerships, and to exchange ideas and insights with fellow Australia-based partners and the AIFFP and BPP teams.    It also included a Showcase of the new partnerships with key industry, academic, NGO, philanthropy, and government stakeholders.   Check out the photos from the event below. The Off-Grid Renewable Energy Partnerships are part of the Australian Government’s Pacific Climate Infrastructure Financing Partnership (PCIFP) initiative to expand AIFFP’s climate infrastructure investments. It does this by partnering with businesses to deliver reliable and sustainable renewable energy to remote and rural communities in the Pacific and Timor-Leste, implemented by the Business Partnerships Platform. You can find out more about them here: https://lnkd.in/gzyiuphw There are now 13 partnerships across six countries, the first amongst many more to come as PCIFP gathers pace, with a new $75 million long-term off-grid renewable energy program set to launch later this year. Keep up to date with news about this program here: https://www.aiffp.gov.au/

  • Deltaccelerate is picking up speed with one of the women-led enterprises, Ecoka JSC, welcoming an Australian delegation last week. Based in Vietnam’s Hau Giang Province, Ecoka JSC manufactures and trades traditional handicraft products made from 100% natural materials.   The trip was arranged by our #DFATBpp partners, New Energy Nexus Vietnam, who are leading #Deltaccelerate, Vietnam’s first accelerator of its kind, offering direct support, tailored training, and networking opportunities for enterprises that are tackling climate adaptation in the Mekong Delta’s agricultural sector.    The program is now halfway through its first stage – we’re looking forward to sharing more updates soon!    🔎 Find out more about Deltaccelerate here: https://lnkd.in/g-CB6Z4T

  • 🏆 Huge congratulations to our #DFATBpp partners working on bio-energy on commercial farms who have successfully secured Gold Standard certification for their Bio-energy for Circular Agriculture (BeCA) Program of Activities. 🏆   It's a ground-breaking carbon program that converts biogas from commercial livestock farms in Vietnam into electricity, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Gold Standard provides a global standard for climate and sustainable development interventions to quantify, certify, and maximise their impact.   The certification is a major achievement for the partners, including SNVNexus for Development, E-GREEN, HD Bank, STD&T Engineering Services Co., Ltd, Chinh Phat Machine.Jsc, and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The rigorous certification process ensures that the project meets the highest standards for carbon offsetting.   As one of the #DFATBpp Green Recovery partnerships which began in August 2021, it aims to promote green recovery in Vietnam by scaling up sustainable electricity generation at large and medium-sized livestock farms using state-of-the-art equipment. The partnership uses on-site biogas to generate electricity for on-farm use, benefiting the climate and reducing costs for farmers. 🐷🌾   ✅ Check out the certification: https://lnkd.in/gFXQGHDE 🔍 Find out more about the partnership: https://lnkd.in/g3thwCGm
