The Australian Embassy team had the pleasure of meeting with Ben van Berkel Founder/Principal Architect and Jan Schellhoff, Director/Senior Architect, at UNStudio a Dutch architecture firm. The Embassy team learned about UnStudio’s sustainable urban development and infrastructure projects in Australia. This is another exciting example of how Australia and the Netherlands are working together to strengthen our economic ties and promote sustainability and circularity. #architecture #sdg

The Australian Embassy in the Netherlands team had the opportunity to meet in Amsterdam with Ruurd Brouwer CEO of TCX Fund, an international currency exchange fund which de-risks development finance and offers a global solution to currency risk in frontier and emerging markets. Discussions focussed on TCX’s contributions to sustainable development in emerging and frontier markets, including in the Indo-Pacific region, and exploring opportunities for further engagement.

This week marked ten years since the downing of Flight MH17 claimed 298 lives, including 196 Dutch and 38 victims who called Australia home. We acknowledged the immense loss felt by their families, friends and loved ones. We also acknowledged and remembered the courage and resilience shown by those involved in the response and investigation over the last ten years. The Attorney-General of Australia, The Hon. Mark Dreyfus KC MP honoured the victims with a speech at the Dutch MH17 Commemoration. Australia is steadfast in its commitment to seeking truth, justice and accountability on behalf of the 298 victims and their next of kin. #justice #mh17

Today commemorates 10 years since the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17. Ahead of the commemoration, the Attorney-General of Australia, The Hon. Mark Dreyfus KC MP, met with Australian MH17 victims’ next of kin and the Netherlands' Next of Kin Foundation, StichtingMh17, at the Australian Residence. He welcomed the next of kin and acknowledged the immense loss and suffering by families, friends and loved ones, as well as their strength and resilience. Australia is steadfast in its commitment to seeking truth, justice and accountability on behalf of the 298 victims and their next of kin.
