Enriching community experiences through reimagining the future of 59 leading retail destinations across Australia.

About us

From Chadstone to Karratha, and Chatswood to Elizabeth, Vicinity’s 59 destinations span the breadth of our great sunburnt country, enriching community experiences at every touchpoint. Our destinations serve as important hubs for our communities, whether it’s in housing essential grocery stores or pharmacies, offering Australia’s largest collection of luxury retail brands, or providing a spot to share a bite with family and friends with places to dine offering cuisine from every corner of the planet. We are at the forefront of our industry, challenging ourselves to create the future of Australian living. Our destinations are evolving, delivering on a mixed-use strategy to offer new experiences to maintain their market-leading positions. We’re on an exciting journey to build mini-cities, adding residential and hotel living, commercial office space and leisure activities to our leading retail and dining options. We manage over 2.5-million square metres of leasable space and with such a large footprint, we know our commitment to sustainability can have a real impact on the everyday lives of our communities. Our sustainability journey is never-ending but to date has seen us focus on social sustainability in the form of a Modern Slavery Statement and responsible procurement policies, and on environmental sustainability with our market-leading $75-million investment in solar energy systems at more than 20 destinations nationally, and waste reduction practices. With so much going on, change is the only constant at Vicinity, and we love it!

A mall leasing kiosk is often just the start of the journey 🛍 That’s the case for Trinny London at Emporium Melbourne where the UK skincare and makeup brand worked with Vicinity’s Leasing and Centre team to introduce its first standalone Melbourne CBD presence. But it wasn’t all straight forward. Find out how the Vicinity team, led by Danielle Nohra and Gabrielle McAsey, worked with Trinny London to find the perfect space, despite a fully leased centre, and what the next chapter holds for Trinny London at Emporium Melbourne. https://lnkd.in/gmQBZWhU [Image description: A white Trinny London branded counter with yellow accents, lights and mirrors] #Vicinity #ShoppingCentres #Leasing

New flagships, stores and pop ups. We've seen it all in the first half of the year for leases! At each of our centres across the country, we’ve welcomed new retailers, expanded store spaces, exciting new flagships, and eye-catching pop ups. Using data and insights combined with local market knowledge, we’ve helped online retailers like July settle in physical spaces, helped established overseas brands like Trinny London grow a footprint in Australia, and unveiled some landmark flagship stores that are bigger, better, and more creative than before. From Lululemon’s stunning new flagship at Chadstone – The Fashion Capital, to the exquisite Arc'teryx boutique in Sydney’s The Galeries, and Bunnings at Colonnades in Adelaide, there's a lot to love! Discover how our nationwide leasing team helps retailers find the perfect space 👇 https://lnkd.in/gtYMCKVg [Image description: a grey concrete shop entrance with wood detail and a Lululemon logo; a curved row of mannequins wearing Lululemon active wear; glass fronted entrance to Arc'Teryx store; a large green Bunnings store and carpark] #Vicinity #shoppingcentres #leasing

NAIDOC Week celebrations are in full swing at our centres across the country 👏 A key component of our Reconciliation Action Plan is to build respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and NAIDOC Week celebrations at our centres have done just that. At Elizabeth City Centre in South Australia, customers explored Maara Dreaming – a collection of hand-crafted indigenous artefacts displayed in centre, telling a story of the Kaurna people. In Melbourne, Northland celebrated with a Welcome to Country followed by Indigenous dancers representing five local tribes before customers had the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and exercises exploring how they could help ‘Keep the Fire Burning’. Nationwide, our teams have utilised what is Australia’s largest shopping centre media network to share NAIDOC Week creative assets all week, from Emporium Melbourne’s five-level split screens to Uptown’s giant atrium screen. To find out more about our Reconciliation Action Plan and the work Vicinity teams do in the community 👇 https://lnkd.in/gsG9-Ced [Image description: a large media screen displays NAIDOC week messaging across a dining atrium at Uptown shopping centre; a collection of hand-crafted indigenous artefacts is displayed in a glass case; five media screens across five levels display NAIDOC week messaging at Emporium Melbourne] #Vicinity #ShoppingCentres #NAIDOC

What do you think is ‘The Greatest of the Mall’? Vicinity has joined forces with Melbourne Food & Wine to celebrate mall culture and food court favourites with the help of Beatbox Burger, Taco Truck and All Day Donuts founder, Raph Rashid. Over the next couple of weeks, Raph and friends will visit four Vicinity centres, bringing creative food court treats for customers to enjoy. We’re talking lemon chicken bao, halal snack tacos, duck dim sims, and popcorn donuts 😋 A collaborative effort between our centre-based and national marketing teams, The Greatest of the Mall brings the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival to the suburbs and gives customers another reason to visit our centres. And the best bit…it’s all FREE 🙌 To find out which centres Raph is visiting, who he is visiting with, and when, head to our Newsroom 👇 https://lnkd.in/gkH9S3EZ [Image description: four snack foods on a 90s inspired blue background with Greatest of the Mall and an image of Raph Rashid in the middle] #Vicinity #ShoppingCentres

That’s a wrap on Pride month 2024 🌈 Building on the momentum of last year’s Pride month, our teams across the country continued our message of inclusivity in different, and more creative ways. At our centres, in-centre and digital channels promoted the now familiar Open to All messages, reminding the community that all are welcome at our centres. There was also a return of drag trivia which saw our teams in the room and online compete and even have a dance here and there. And most creatively, our Pride and Allies Employee Advisory Group, helped teams learn a little more about the LGBTQIA+ arts community with a self-produced three-part podcast series that shines a light on queer / LGBTQIA+ artists including Janelle Monae, Umi, and Frank Ocean. #Vicinity #ShoppingCentres #Pride2024

Can an online brand move into physical retail? That’s exactly what popular Melbourne-born travel accessories brand, July did at a handful of Vicinity centres with the guidance of Vicinity’s leasing team. Equipped with market insights and local knowledge, the leasing team helped July expand first into a brand activation space before eventually opening a flagship store at The Galeries in Sydney CBD. To read more about the journey, head over to our Newsroom 👇 https://lnkd.in/g77nFrwQ [Image description: a glass store front surrounded by stone walls shows luggage and a minimalist fitout inside; wood panelled store with luggage on display and person working behind a desk; colourful suitcases and bags lined up in a store with wooden walls] #Vicinity #ShoppingCentres #Leasing

Keep an eye out for the sunflowers 🌻 As part of our commitment to inclusivity, acceptance, and support for individuals living with non-visible disabilities, our centres are proudly adopting the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. The Sunflower Program helps people discreetly indicate their need for assistance by wearing a sunflower pin, wristband, or lanyard. Launched at each of our centres across the country, the Sunflower Program will help support a significant part of our community with around one in five Australians living with a disability, with an estimated 80 per cent of disabilities invisible. To find out more, head to our Newsroom 👇 https://lnkd.in/gzGgQmTb [Image description: a person wearing a sunflower lanyard leans on a desk next to a plaque and a vase of sunflowers] #Vicinity #ShoppingCentres
