Smart Pups – pioneers in providing task-specific Assistance Dogs to children under 18, certified under the Guide, Hearing, and Assistance Dog Act 2009. Our founder's relentless advocacy led to amendments in the Act, ensuring children's access to trained Assistance Dogs with alternative handlers. Our purpose is clear: enhancing the lives of children with autism, seizures, mobility challenges, and diabetes-related syndromes. We train our Medical Assistance Dogs to offer safety, companionship, mobility, and independence, fostering a brighter future for these special kids. With an extraordinary ability to detect seizures and low blood sugar up to 10 minutes before they occur, our Smart Pups Medical Alert Assistance Dogs provide an invaluable lifeline to their young charges. These remarkable companions provide more than just alertness; they offer friendship, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Since 2011, we've placed over 300 plus highly-trained Assistance Dogs across Australia, making Smart Pups a truly national organisation. While each Smart Pup's training costs $50,000, we rely solely on the generosity of corporate partners, grants and donations. Join us in transforming lives, one paw at a time. 2024 Smart Pups Fundraiser Luncheon Brisbane's iconic Paddo Tavern recently hosted the 12th consecutive Smart Pups Fundraiser Luncheon. The event featured Smart Pups patron Dawn Fraser AC MBE, key-note speaker Walter Mikac AM, poet Murray Hartin & Australian music legend Ian Moss. Queensland Premier, The Honorable Steven Miles generously donated $200,000 on behalf of the Queensland Government. A huge $455,396 was raised on the day! The team at Smart Pups are forever grateful to everyone involved in putting this amazing event together. Your support allows us to continue placing assistance dogs with children with special needs.

When Kevvie met Kevvie! Smart Pup in Training Milton received his forever name from his sponsors, the Broncos Club on Thursday at their Sportsmans Lunch. After receiving the most votes amongst the club patrons, in honour of Broncos Head Coach, Kevvie Walters, Smart Pup Milton is now known as Kevvie! We think it fits him paw-fectly! An amazing afternoon of good company, good food and puppies - what more could you want! Thanks for having us Broncos Club 🐾

Thank you to QHA and Bidfood Australia for choosing Smart Pups to be the beneficiary of the 50/50 raffle last week at the RACV Royal Pines Resort! A massive 240 players took to the course despite the wet weather, and we think those puppy cuddles on hole 3 made up for it!

Headspace and Smart Pups Assistance Dogs for Special Needs Kids united in Brisbane at the QLD Cricketers Club on Friday, November 24th, for an impactful Gala Fundraiser. Shannon L. from headspace went above and beyond, ensuring a fantastic venue, delectable food, entertaining activities, and a delightful lolly bar. The event successfully raised $16,000, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who generously donated and actively participated in the live auctions. These funds are destined for meaningful purposes. Otis, our future medical assistance dog, accompanied us to the event and captured the hearts of guest with his charm. He received plenty of adoration, cuddles, and love throughout the night. Otis' well-behaved presence on stage earned him a delicious dinner from Big Dog Pet Foods. A big thank you to all who contributed to making this event a success, as these funds will go a long way in supporting our important initiatives.
