What an incredible Friday it was! Delighted to have spoken at the Inaugural Brisbane Broncos filly lunch at Broncos Club, where $10,000 was raised for Share the Dignity 👏👏🎉 Our partnership with the Broncos spans 9 years, and it was an honor to hear Ali Brigginshaw speak passionately about the game and the importance of ensuring girls have access to period products and essentials. Together, we are a formidable force 🙏 Proud of the impactful work we are accomplishing together! 💖 Thank you Paris Simoes for your passion and energy, you're a bloody legend lady 👏 💪 #ShareTheDignity #BroncosFamily #CommunityImpact

It is widely accepted that we should never attempt to be all things to all people... except when it comes to our club café menus! We ask a lot of our Courtyard Café – do coffee and breakky food as good as a rival café on Given Terrace, provide light and healthy lunch options for members and locals, offer a few heartier options for dinner time diners, do all day grazing and snacking like a cafeteria, and produce dude food for bar patrons looking for something to have with a beer. Club cafes are the heart of the venue, the all-day dining outlet that’s open from the moment we open the doors until often late at night. We’re judged on the coffee, the service, that ambience and most of all the food. The food offering has to be about as diverse as it comes. Food that goes with coffee; food that goes with beer and wine; food that goes with watching footy; food on plates that can be rested on laps and eaten one-handed while the patron plays a pokie; a mix of food that includes healthy, house made dishes as well as frozen, fried delights (consumers tell us they want one of those but their purchase behaviour tells a different story!); food that can hit the right price point to satisfy every budget whilst still making a margin sufficient to pay the bills; and that whole menu has to be available from opening time until close to suit the many and varied consumer profiles that visit our clubs. Fried fish at 10am? No worries. Eggs Bennedict at 7pm? Sure, why not. A genuine juggling act. Congratulations to our Executive Chef Daniel Fleming for curating this latest iteration of the Courtyard Café menu… all things to all people. https://lnkd.in/gf25y5jq

Broncos Club is proud to have partnered with Smart Pups Assistance Dogs to raise $20,000 to purchase an assistance dog for a child with special needs. The main fundraising drive was a Charity Sports Lunch featuring special appearances by Broncos coach Kevin Walters and veteran winger Corey Oates. Broncos Club also staged an online poll asking members to vote for a name for the puppy. Whilst many thought that Walshy might’ve been a red hot favourite or Patty or Ezra, leagues club members voted overwhelmingly for former great and 2023 grand final coach Kevin Walters. As luck would have it, “Kevvie” was our special guest at the event and he was able to meet his namesake Kevvie the golden retriever. Media personality Donna Lynch has strong ties to the Smart Pups organisation and also strong ties to the Broncos Club. “It was a great partnership between Broncos Club and Smart Pups and a really successfully run event that highlighted the great work that community clubs do”. Donna is championing the Broncos Club’s next charitable event, a “Fillies Luch” on Friday 19 July. The Fillies Lunch is Donna’s brainchild and turns on its head the notion of club lunch being an exclusively blokey affair and highlights the high performing females operating in community clubs and rugby league. The Fillies Lunch will be raising funds for Share the Dignity. Share the Dignity works to make a real, on-the-ground difference to the lives of women, girls and those who menstruate who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, domestic violence or poverty. We distribute period products to those in need and work to achieve menstrual equity here in Australia. When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period. To book a table email Jared Melvin operations@broncosclub.com.au, single tickets $140, table of 10 $1400.

Monday to Friday restaurant manager jobs don't come along often! We're really fortunate to have a great crew of emerging hospo stars in F&B supervisor roles who can support your efforts on the weekends, what they need is a strong leader to guide them. 'The Grill' is a bit of a juggernaut. 300 seats, $70K per week (at club prices that's a lot of covers!)... we're looking for someone to harness its potential. Core priorities for the role will include being the standard-bearer for service excellence; motivating and inspiring a keen but green team, be the leader whose example they want to follow; nail down the sequence of service and make the status quo operation slick; ultimately leading a project to transition from bistro style counter service to an order-at-table model, a face to face restaurant experience complemented by QR code ordering for larger groups. If you've got the runs on the board with this type of operation, we'd love to have you on the team here at the Broncos.

Dan Fleming joins Broncos Club as Executive Chef following a three-year tenure as Exec Chef at Sirromet Winery. Dan’s culinary journey started as an apprentice chef in the 90s at Hilton Adelaide, a property he returned to sixteen years later as Exec Chef from 2016-2018. Dan’s mentors in the infancy of his career include Simon Bryant, Cheong Liew and Luke Nguyen. Dan’s culinary pedigree is five star, and his breadth of experiences positions him perfectly to run the multioutlet and high volume food business at the Broncos. Dan has worked two stints in Brisbane, firstly as Executive Chef at the Regatta Hotel (2014-16), a perfect experience for leading the Broncos Club’s ‘The Grill’ restaurant and an introduction to high volume pub style cuisine like the parmies and burgers on offer in Alfie’s Sports Bar. His return to Brisbane after Hilton Adelaide was to lead the kitchen teams at the Gabba for Michael O’Brien Catering (2018-2020). This role presented an opportunity to hone his approach to high quality and high volume quick service dining similar to the Club’s ‘Courtyard Café’as well as the delivery of event catering to conference rooms, suites and corporate boxes. Dan then headed to Mount Cotton and now to Red Hill. Outside of work, Dan is a supporter of the Adelaide Crows and Tottenham Hot Spurs. And now, we suppose, the mighty Broncos. Join us in welcoming Dan by trying his February meal of the month - Duck Pappardelle. Available in The Grill for $30. View Menu Here: https://lnkd.in/gJD5F89Y
