Narromine to Narrabri Section Update 🌾 Today we would like to share with you an update on the Narromine to Narrabri section of the Inland Rail project that has been released! In the upcoming weeks, permissions will be sought from landowners to conduct geotechnical, site investigations, and field studies. These activities, planned for the latter half of 2024, are crucial for determining project scope and cost. To minimize disruption to farming operations, site access schedules will be coordinated in advance. Appreciation is extended to landowners who have supported these investigations thus far, with thanks in advance to all for their continued cooperation and support. They also add that this year, the focus is on closely collaborating with affected landowners to secure necessary land for the Inland Rail corridor. Their team is dedicated to negotiating voluntary agreements that are fair, transparent, and tailored to meet individual needs. Transitioning to a voluntary negotiation process, the team will assess independent professional costs in good faith and has introduced new protocols for efficient reimbursement. LET'S TALK BRACKET CREEP: The average taxpayer will lose $2000 to bracket creep by 2028 unless there is another round of tax cuts, as projections show the Albanese government will reap an extra $29 billion in revenue from the “stealth tax” on incomes. Economists warn Australia’s tax system is increasingly reliant on slugging workers, and Treasury’s Intergenerational Report last year predicted personal taxes would hit 60 per cent of the overall federal tax base in the coming decades without “policy change” . A worker earning between $100,000 and $150,000 will pay a cumulative extra $2020 in income tax by 2027-28 because of bracket creep. A worker earning $50,000 to $100,000 will lose about $1820 to bracket creep over the next four years. Meanwhile , a high-income earner on more than $200,000 will fork out an extra $6000 in tax as a result of bracket creep. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments!

Grong Grong, a tiny town 5 1/2 hours' drive west of Sydney, has landed insurance giant IAG as its biggest customer. This vindicates its investors’ vision and highlights the untapped capacity of small-scale community suppliers. The six-year deal with IAG begins next year and will account for almost all of Grong Grong’s output. However, solar farms like Grong Grong, which fly below the radar, also represent a large opportunity to plug renewable power into the system. One of the many ingredients that contributed to Grong Grong’s success was its Goldilocks sizing: not too big, not too small. It fits in the sweet spot between one and five megawatts. That’s big enough to generate a commercial supply but, critically, small enough to exempt it from the controls that the Australian Energy Market Operator applies to larger generators. Another advantage to its smaller size is that the solar farm connects directly to the electricity distribution system rather than through the transmission system. Simple checks for super success! It’s important that employers meet their superannuation obligations. Complete these five simple checks to make sure your super is successful. 1. Check which workers are eligible – the classification of each worker must be correct. 2. Check the super fund details are correct – super contributions must be paid to the right fund. 3. Check the right amount of super is being paid – the SG rate is currently 11%. From 1 July 2024, the rate will increase to 11.5%. 4. Check that contributions are paid on time – super contributions must be paid at least 4 times a year, by the quarterly due dates. The next payment is due on 28 July. If the employer uses a super clearing house, they need to allow enough time for payments to reach the worker's super fund as processing times can vary. 5.
