Happy rainy Monday! Today, we would like to show you this article posted in the AFR last week: 'Global players dominate solar, wind' International giants are leading the charge in our country's renewable energy evolution! 🌏💡 Companies from China, France, Spain, and across Asia have taken the helm in Australia's burgeoning large-scale solar farm sector, surpassing local heavyweights like AGL Energy and Origin Energy. Beijing Energy International has emerged as the largest owner of utility-scale solar projects Down Under, following its game-changing acquisition of Lightsource BP's Australian assets for $813 million. This move catapulted Beijing Energy's Aussie portfolio to over two gigawatts, valued at more than $3 billion, showcasing their deep commitment to our market. Not to be outdone, Spain's Acciona and Iberdrola, along with FRV (Fotowatio Renewable Ventures), are also pivotal players in Australia's solar landscape. Meanwhile, companies like ACEN from the Philippines and Gentari from Malaysia have made significant strides through strategic acquisitions. While AGL and Origin excel in battery storage, their focus has left them trailing in utility-scale PV and wind energy development, highlighting the dominance of international firms in shaping Australia's renewable future. 🌿✨ What are your thoughts on Renewable Energy? #SolarEnergy #RenewableRevolution
