The AAFIE Doing School Differently conference brought together over 600 delegates committed to supporting children and young people who need a flexible learning environment from across Australia. We commend the NSW Government on the positive amendments to the Community Services Sector 'Portable Long Service Leave' Bill, giving care sector staff more choice and flexibility in their leave entitlements! “This legislation gives our workforce the flexibility and security that enables them to enjoy the benefits of their long service leave, even when they change employers in the sector,” Claire Robbs, Chief Executive of Life Without Barriers, said. “Not only will these changes help to retain our hardworking care and support workers, but we also see the change as benefitting the sector as a whole." “For Life Without Barriers, we work across the community services sector including disability, out-of-home care and mental health support which means we have staff that can transition across directorates, bringing unique experience to each role."
