We won’t give up until Australia’s nature is protected and regenerated. Nature needs us, now.
About us
We’re the Australian Conservation Foundation, Australia’s national environment organisation. Since 1965, we’ve protected the nature we all love – our unique wildlife and our beautiful beaches and bush. Driven by the power of people, we won World Heritage listing for the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu National Park, and returned precious water to the rivers of the Murray-Darling. We influence governments and businesses to protect the animals, rivers and reefs close to our hearts and hold decision-makers to account without fear or favour. Everything we do is evidence-based and helps nature and people thrive for generations to come. We won’t give up until Australia’s nature is protected and regenerated. Nature needs us, now. Authorised by Kelly O’Shanassy, ACF, 1/60 Leicester St, Carlton, Vic, 3053.

Nature is in crisis. The time to act is NOW. Thank you to Independent MPs Allegra Spender, Zali Steggall OAM MP, Andrew Wilkie, and others calling for stronger nature laws. Now, you can too. Call on the Albanese government for stronger laws that protect our plants and animals, stop #deforestation, and ensure damage done by new fossil fuel projects is no longer ignored. Have your say on the Nature Positive bills before July 15th: https://acf.to/3S09aNQ #auspol

This is a great initiative. The co-existence of culture, conservation, Indigenous management of country and economic opportunity is a model we can all learn from. 👏 https://acf.to/4cvRbac Tanya Plibersek #auspol #NAIDOC2024

Koala habitat is being flattened at a dangerous rate. Decision-makers have the power to introduce a strong, independent new national nature regulator – Environment Protection Australia (#EPA) to stop this destruction. But we can’t delay. Nature needs a strong EPA, now. Have your say on the Nature Positive Bills before July 15: https://acf.to/3RWbqWk #auspol

First Nations peoples have cared for this land, waters, wildlife, and culture for over 65,000 years—stretching back to the last ice age! Much of this knowledge was lost due to the brutalities of colonisation, but extraordinary new research is rediscovering the innovation and complexity of this rich heritage. We are cooking the planet! 🌍🔥 For 12 months straight, global temperatures have hovered at or above the Paris Agreement target of 1.5°C. Leading climate scientists warn that unless we get emissions from burning fossil fuels under control, these scorching temperatures will only get higher and more frequent. https://acf.to/3S1ocD7

Marty and countless other farmers are striving to find a balance between farming and protecting our environment. Now, you can join the fight to protect our most vulnerable wildlife by kick-starting our campaign.
