artsPlace works with hundreds of artists each year to deliver meaningful arts and culture programming and transformative experiences to Bow Valley residents and visitors. We always look to partner with professional and emerging artists on a variety of projects, whether it's teaching contracts, exhibition opportunities, performing possibilities, or mentorship programs.

Call for Community Exhibitions 2025

Are you a professional artist, a hobbyist, or an emerging artist residing in the Bow Valley?

If so, this call for submissions may be the perfect fit for you! Bow Valley artists may apply for a Community Exhibition as an individual or together with others as a collective of community artists.

The Bow Valley includes Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, the M.D. of Bighorn, Kananaskis, and Mînî Thnî.

Submission Deadline: Sept. 8, 2024

RISE Emerging Artist Program

Are you in the early stages of your career (less than 5 years), do you have specialized training in your field (not necessarily gained in an academic institution), and have created a modest, independent body of work?

The aim of RISE is to cultivate Alberta’s emerging artists by pairing an exhibition opportunity with mentorship by artist professionals. Participating artists will build experience in exhibition design, installation, marketing and business skills and professional practice. This program will foster community awareness of contemporary arts and work to prepare emerging artists for a professional career in the arts.

Call for Teaching Artists

Are you an artist, or do you have an artistic skill that you can teach?

We are always looking to employ artists who can teach ceramics, painting, drawing, crafting, photography, writing, and theatre skills to adults and children. Other arts practices also welcome!
