Volunteer

Be part of our family

At artsPlace, volunteers make the world go round!

Volunteering at artsPlace is a fun, social way to meet your neighbours and help build the quality of art experiences offered here.

artsPlace recognizes that as a volunteer you give us your time and your passion free of charge, and we couldn’t be more grateful. As an artsPlace volunteer, you will be an invaluable part of our team, and will have the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, and enjoy a number of free arts activities and events. We welcome your talents and time as a contribution to Canmore’s arts and creativity — let us know your interests, the time you can commit, and we’d love to get to know you!

artsPlace celebrates diversity and equality. Applicants will not be discriminated against because of race, colour, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, religion, national origin, disability, ancestry, marital status, or any other applicable characteristics protected by law.

What does a day at summer camp look like?

Welcome the kids in the morning; prepare the set-up for classes; supervise the children; work with children one to one to adapt to each campers’ needs with regards to ability and different ways of learning; prioritize camper’s well-being, safety and protection at all times by assessing, evaluating & mitigating potential risks; organize and assist with set-up and clean-up of camp events, activities and programs; report any accidents, incidents, concerns, first aid occurrences or site damage to a staff member.
