Rigorous peer review

JSM is supported by a rigorous editorial process to ensure it publishes only the highest quality research. The journal uses double blind peer review. Find out more about details about the peer review process here.

Rapid and transparent editorial process

JSM has a simple online submission process, using ScholarOne, and you can submit your initial manuscript as a single PDF in any journal style.
Once a paper is published, authors can view all article-level metrics on the OUP platform.

Option to publish open access

JSM offers the option of publishing under an open access licence, allowing more people to view and download your work.
OUP has a growing number of Read and Publish agreements with institutions and consortia which provide funding for open access publishing. This means authors from participating institutions can publish open access, and the institution may pay the charge. Find out if your institution is participating.
OUP aims to ensure that corresponding authors in all countries and regions that are part of the developing countries initiative are eligible for a full waiver of publishing fees in fully open access journals. Find out more here.
