The mission of the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is to provide reliable and relevant academic data to Senior Leadership throughout New York University to aid in strategic decision-making to ensure student and institutional success, respond to external challenges, and meet mandated state, federal, public and accreditation reporting.
We specialize in a range of data domains and reporting tools to support NYU's strategic pathways and facilitate collaboration and connections across our Global University.

OIRDI has three operational goals:
- Promote awareness of the expansive and influential activities of New York University through reporting and consortium participation.
- Identify methods to streamline reporting and enable guided self-service reporting as appropriate in fields where interpretation can be made self-evident
- Support clients of the office in the move from consuming descriptive reports to diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive reports.
