Board Nominations

• Offer the perspective that embodies and represents the diversity of the NYU alumni community
• Possess a strong record of leadership, both at NYU and within their communities
• Have prior or current volunteer experience and involvement with NYU
• Work well with people individually and as part of a team
• Can commit to active participation in events and programs sponsored by the NYUAA and the University
• Are willing to assume and commit to Board member requirements such as participation in Board and committee meetings and supporting initiatives that directly impact student scholarships.

Members of the NYUAA Board individuals are required to:

• Accept and abide by the principles and mission of the Board
  
• Attend all meetings of the Board, which meets four times annually. Members who cannot attend meetings in person are expected to participate in the meetings via conference call.
  
• Attend the Annual Meeting, Alumni Volunteer Conference, and any special board meetings or events called by the Board Officers
  
• Serve actively on at least one NYUAA committee, participating in at least two-thirds of the committee meetings each year (in person or via conference call)
  
• Prepare for discussion by reviewing the agenda and all supporting materials prior to board or committee meetings
  
• Contribute annually to the University at a level that is based on an individual’s personal financial situation
  
• Complete self-evaluations or surveys for the organization when requested
  
• Follow code of ethics, conflict of interest, and confidentiality policies as indicated by the University
