If you were once formally enrolled at NYU, we’re glad you are interested in returning. Here's what you need to know to apply as a readmission applicant:

To apply, don’t use the Common Application. Instead, follow the below link:

Depending on when you want to return to NYU, here are the application deadlines:

Rory Meyers College of Nursing, NYU Shanghai,
NYU Abu Dhabi
All other programs
Spring November 1 December 1
Summer April 1 April 1
Fall June 1 August 1

Note: If you’re unable to complete the application email admissions.ops@nyu.edu for assistance.

Here are a few other things to consider:

  • If you’re currently on a leave of absence for the semester from NYU, talk with your academic adviser before submitting a new application.
  • If you have matriculated at another institution while you were away, you will be considered a transfer student and must apply for admission using the Common Application in order to return to NYU. Please refer to our Transfer Student Guide for more information on transferring to NYU.
  • If you’re an international student, try to complete the application process one to two months in advance of the deadlines to give you time to secure the appropriate visa for re-entry into the United States.
  • If you are interested in internally transferring to a different school than where you were last enrolled, you will be able to indicate your new program of interest on the readmission application. You will only receive one admissions decision. To learn more about this process, including eligibility and timelines, visit our internal transfer website. Please note that the application deadlines are different for students seeking admission to a new school.
