Meet the leadership team!

Melanie Torres

Mary Carolonza (STEINHARDT '24) is pursuing a dual degree in Global Public Health and Applied Psychology. She transferred to NYU in Spring '22 and joined the 1831 Fund because she wanted to be part of the NYU community while developing her leadership skills and making friends. In addition to the 1831 Fund, she has been involved in WNYU, Alpha Phi Omega, the Student Activities Board, and the West 10th Literary Journal. Outside of classes, she enjoys window shopping in Soho, getting matcha lattes at Plantshed, and listening to music.

Tina Panda

Tina Panda (CAS '24) is a senior from Calcutta, India, studying politics on a pre-law track at NYU. She joined the Fund as she was passionate about giving back to the NYU community after getting financial aid to attend the school of her dreams. She is also a Senator at large for International Students and Students facing Basic Needs Insecurity. In her free time, she loves to play with dogs and write poetry.
