With Joe Biden consistently trailing in the presidential polls and prodigal son Hunter about to begin his criminal trial on federal gun charges, Democrats are officially freaking out. They have (dishonestly) painted a portrait of their opponent, Donald Trump, as an authoritarian foe of "our democracy," but their candidate is currently on track to lose to him this fall—"bigly," as he might say. So what can Democrats now do? Not much, actually. They might be tempted to defenestrate Uncle Joe at the Democratic National Convention in August, but that simply is not going to happen. As it turns out, Democrats are trapped in an intersectional quagmire of their very own making. For details, read my most recent column.
I have had two episodes of "The Josh Hammer Show" since our last newsletter. First, my good friend and former NYPD officer John Cardillo joined to discuss harrowing recent revelations about radical mosques and imams operating in Florida—as well as what can be done nationally to secure the American people from these Islamist monsters in our midst. Second, we released a special-edition all-"Hammertime" episode, where I blistered through all the latest woke, far-left insanity wreaking havoc upon the American people. You can listen to all episodes of "The Josh Hammer Show" at the Newsweek website or on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Some other highlights from the past week include my appearances with Mike Slater on The First; John Huddy, Bianca de la Garza, and others on Newsmax (and Newsmax 2); Rita Panahi on Sky News Australia; the aforementioned John Cardillo on Salem News Channel; Dan Ball on One America News Network; Bob Frantz on AM 1420 The Answer (Cleveland); Vince Coglianese on News Talk 105.9 WMAL (Washington, D.C.); the popular "Steak for Breakfast Podcast"; and my quote for Fox News on President Biden's radical transformation of the federal courts. In addition, I am delighted to get my (long-overdue!) maiden byline in the brand-new issue of the Claremont Review of Books, as part of the journal's symposium on "National Conservatism and Its Discontents."
On a related note, I'm also pleased to share that I will be speaking at this July's National Conservatism Conference ("NatCon 4") in Washington, D.C.! Check out the NatCon 4 home page here. To keep up with everything I'm doing, make sure to follow me on Twitter/X, Instagram, and Facebook. As a reminder, I also launched a second (legal-themed) show earlier this year, "America on Trial with Josh Hammer," with The First; you can subscribe and listen to daily (Monday-Friday) episodes of the show on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Now for two additional updates. First, Newsweek Voices is now live and I am now putting out fresh bonus audio content almost every weekday, as part of "Josh Hammer Premium." This content is paywalled and only available for paying Newsweek subscribers. So make sure to subscribe to Newsweek here if you are not already doing so! Second, we also rolled out my new Subtext chat, which you can read all about and sign up for here. It's only $2.99/month to subscribe to this brand-new private chat!
Our additional highlighted Newsweek op-eds from the past week includes selections from Rep. Kevin Hern (R-Okla.), Adam B. Coleman, Aviva Klompas, Mark Goldfeder, and Emma Waters.
