Major boost for Munster as RG Snyman handed first start of the season against Scarlets

RG Snyman hasn't played for Munster yet this season.

Springbok star RG Snyman has been named to start for Munster against the Scarlets on Friday night (7.35pm).

Graham Rowntree’s men make the trip to Parc y Scarlets looking to improve their league position, with Munster currently just outside the URC playoff places.

Their cause has been given a massive boost by the availability of Snyman, who hasn’t played since the Rugby World Cup final win over the All Blacks in late October.

The second row, who will join Leinster at the end of the season, is back fit after recovering from surgery on a chest/shoulder issue.

Rowntree is also able to call on Conor Murray, who starts at scrum-half after being released from Ireland camp to get game time.

Thomas Ahern is also back in action after recovering from a concussion suffered against Northampton last month.
