Adam Idah wrote himself into the history books with an injury time winner to deliver Scottish Cup glory against Rangers.

The Corkman has proved his worth in a Celtic shirt after his January signing from Norwich on loan proved divisive.

But Brendan Rodgers’ faith in Idah has been justified, with the Irish international making a habit of scoring important goals en route to double joy.

In a scrappy game where his fellow Irishman Liam Scales played the duration, Idah was introduced in the 62nd minute.

He was in the right place at the right time at the death as Jack Butland fumbled a shot from Paulo Bernardo into his direction.

It was Idah's ninth goal of his temporary stay in Scotland, but he indicated that he would be keen on making it permanent after a magic afternoon at Hampden Park.

"I said I'd come here to try and score as many goals as I could, I didn't think I'd score a goal like this in front of all these fans. It's an amazing feeling," he said.

"It's hard to put into words. Anyone here can see what it means to the fans, to the players. I've always supported Celtic, it's amazing.

"Football is tricky. I love it here, I've said it previously, it's a great club but I'm still contracted to Norwich. I'll go back in the summer and who knows?"
