Mike Tyson recovering after falling ill during flight from Miami to Los Angeles

Mike Tyson is recovering after falling ill on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

According to his publicist, the 57-year-old, who will be 58 next month, became “became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing” last Sunday.

“Thankfully, Mr Tyson is doing great. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him,” according to the statement.

The American Airlines flight was met by first responders upon landing at LA International Airport ‘”due to the medical needs of a customer”, according to a statement from the airline.

The former undisputed world heavyweight champion is due to meet social influencer Jake Paul (27) in a sanctioned professional fight in the home stadium of the Dallas Cowboys on July 20.

The rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is the co-feature on the bill in the 80,000-seater stadium.

The show, due to be shown live worldwide on Netflix, is dependent on the Tyson-Paul bout going ahead.

Tyson was the undisputed world heavyweight champion between 1987 and 1990. He retired in 2005. His most recent bout was an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr four years ago.
