Review: The BYD Seal has style, space and can handle a return trip from Dublin to Cork on a single charge

Good looking, lively and quick to charge, there’s lots in this car to prove the EV sceptics wrong

The Seal achieved a maximum five stars when tested by EuroNCAP and comes with a host of advanced driver assistance features

Misinformation and myths are slowing down the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Ireland. The disconnect between perception and reality poses a real challenge for the EV market.

A recent survey by the AA found significant concerns on battery health and longevity. Of those surveyed, 53pc believed EV batteries last less than 100,000km, even though the average warranty offered by car manufacturers is eight years or 160,000km. To replace a battery is very rare and they can be repaired should anything go wrong.
