Har Dunne has been involved in the Christmas tree trade all his working life – more than three decades – but it’s only in the last couple of years that he has started selling his own trees.

The Carlow man, who has over 40,000 trees growing on three sites, explains: "Until then, all of the money I made maintaining Christmas trees for other growers went into raising and educating our family, but in 2013 I found myself in a position where I could afford to rent some land to grow my own trees, which is something I've always wanted to do,” he says.
