Agriculture sector issued the third largest number of work permits in Ireland this year

The agri-food sector is one of the industries that are most reliant on migrant labour accounting for 842 out of the 6874 work permits issued so far in 2024

Dawn Meats and Anglo Beef Processors received the largest number of work permits for foreign-national workers in the first two months of the year, more than any other company in the country.

A total of 6,874 permits were issued in the first two months of the year and, according to data released by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment this year, Dawn Meats Ireland and Anglo Beef Processors Ireland Unlimited Company account for 190 and 134 permits respectively, while Anglo Beef Processors Limited received another 36 permits out of the 6,874 issued over January and February. Slaney Foods received 55, Irish Country Meats 51; Kildare Chilling 39; Liffey Meats Cavan 17.
