EXCLUSIVEIt's 'too easy' for terrorists to illegally enter the U.S. and kill Americans with Biden's 'pure stupidity' at the border, Republicans warn after eight migrants with ISIS ties are arrested

Republicans are sounding the alarm on how 'easy' President Joe Biden's policies have made it for terrorists to enter the U.S. - and potentially plan devastating attacks.

Eight Tajikistan nationals with potential ties to ISIS were arrested in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles last week in a coordinated sting by law enforcement, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

These terrorist-affiliated individuals all entered the country through the U.S.-Mexico border, and ICE officials told the New York Post that a wiretap revealed one of the suspects had been talking about bombs, prompting concern that a horrific attack like 9/11 or the Boston Marathon bombing could occur again.

This raised alarm bells on Capitol Hill among GOP members who have for years been calling for border security reforms to keep terrorists and their friends out.

'Think about how easy it is to invade when you have up to 15 million people coming in in the course of four years,' Rep. Rich McCormick, a military veteran, told DailyMail.com, adding 'It only takes 11 people,' in reference to those who carried out the 9/11 attacks.

'We've seen that before,' he continued, calling current border policy 'pure stupidity.'

Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com: 'I know that there are established cells here in the United States as a result of the open border crisis.'

'And so this is not a question of if, the question is when is the next terrorist attack going to happen?'

'We have too porous of a border for there not to be a situation that is going to result in the loss of life, and it's tragic that the Biden administration has played politics with people's lives.'

Cammack also slammed the White House for 'abusing the asylum process in order to get people in here when they don't have legitimate claims.'

Two ICE officials said they arrested the suspected terrorist affiliates last week only after the FBI raised the alarm on their ISIS ties.

The suspects are originally from Tajikistan, and they also have Russian citizenship, according to the Post.

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., did not mince his words when casting blame on Biden.

'We've had over 300 known terrorists come through the southern border, all under Joe Biden's watch. He doesn't care about the safety and security of the American people. He cares about letting in as many illegals, regardless of the outcome of the safety and security of Americans.'

And Tennessee Republican Rep. Chuck Fleischmann told DailyMail.com he is 'scared' of what could happen to American citizens during a possible terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

'For four years we've had a porous border under President Biden, he incentivized illegal immigration. People have come across the border. The reality is we don't know who all is here. That scares me.'

After the eight arrestees entered the U.S. through the southern border last spring and passed through the government's screening process, preliminary searches did not turn up information that would have identified them as potential terrorism-related concerns.

They are being held on immigration violations and are in the custody of ICE, which made the arrests while working with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF).

The terrorist affiliates are currently facing proceedings to remove them from the country.

An ICE official familiar with the sting told The Post the one of the suspects had been talking about bombs, adding: 'Remember the Boston marathon [bombing]? I'm afraid something like that might happen again or worse.'

The suspect in question has been involved with law enforcement before and had a court date next year, according to the source.

'We know that there are people, bad guys from roughly 60 different countries around the world, all of whom hate the United States, who are infiltrating our southern border, and in some cases, our northern border,' said Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Mich., a retired three-star general.

Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, told DailyMail.com 'Biden has opened up [the U.S.] to terrorists.'

The latest infiltration by ISIS-connected migrants comes as top law enforcement officials warned the threat of a terrorist attack in the US has risen 'enormously' over the past few months.

Attorney General Merrick Garland made the astonishing admission while testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday last week during a hearing dedicated to investigating the department's politicization

'I am worried about the possibility of a terrorist attack in the country after October 7,' Attorney General Garland said. 'The threat level for us has gone up enormously.'

'Every morning, we worry about this question. We try to track anyone who might be trying to hurt the country,' he continued. 'Of course, this is a major priority for the Justice Department.'

FBI Director Christopher Wray, speaking to a different committee on the other side of Capitol Hill in the Senate, agreed, saying 'we have seen the threat from foreign terrorists rise to a whole other level' after the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

'We have seen a rouges' gallery of foreign terrorist organizations call for attacks against Americans and our allies,' Wray said.

'Just in the time I have been FBI director we have disrupted multiple terror attacks around U.S. cities.'

'I would be hard pressed to think of a time when so many different threats to our public safety and national security were so elevated all at the same time.'

Wray said threats against Jewish Americans has been particularly acute.

'We've seen an elevated threat to the Jewish community in the United States.'

Though he said Jewish communities were targeted before the October 7 attack, since then the threats 'went up dramatically.'

'Religiously motivated hate crimes, close to 60 percent of them, are targeted at the Jewish community,' Wray testified, noting how the community only makes up two percent of the U.S. population.

'Increasingly concerning is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland, not unlike an attack we saw in the Russia theater,' he added, referring to the Crocus City Hall concert shooting in March.

One vector for threats to enter the country is through the U.S.-Mexico border, according to the FBI chief.
