Meet Uraisha Magan, PhD, R&D lead here at Newform Foods. She joins us with over 13 years of experience in applied and academic research and holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Pretoria, along with a master’s degree in biochemistry. Further to this, Uraisha has occupied diverse roles in bioprocess development, product formulation, and quality control, particularly during her tenure as a candidate researcher and Laboratory Technician. These roles showcase her versatility, aptitude and hunger for tackling challenges in the field of cultivated animal products. Her comprehensive skill set, ranging from tissue culture to project management, positions her as a valuable asset for advancing research and development within the sector. “My drivers are impactful research, sustainability and, most importantly, animal welfare! I am dedicated to advancing cultivated animal products. We spent Day 2 of our London Immersion Trip at the Africa Tech Summit which was a huge success! The summit featured 300+ delegates, 150+ companies, and the market open at the London Stock Exchange. Our two portfolio companies also shone at the Investment Showcase with Chidalu Onyenso presenting on "Empowering African Businesses: Real Stories of Solar Success" with Earthbond, and Brett Thompson and Tasneem Karodia showcasing on "Shaping Tomorrow's Food Landscape through Technology and Innovation," with Newform Foods.
