When we strengthen families, we can strengthen communities.
About us
We believe that every child is created to be a part of a loving, secure, thriving family. Arise started in the community of Heideveld in the Cape Flats, Cape Town, where we saw families crumbling under the weight of poverty, crime, social injustice and abuse. We now work in different communities across the Cape Flats, in partnership with schools and organisations. Arise aims to strengthen family units through various programmes. We work with both children and parents or caregivers to, strengthen, and equip families so that they can be a place where children feel safe, loved, and find a sense of belonging. Our model incorporates strength-based and resilience building interventions, focused on developing the bond between children and their caregivers. In an attempt to further the footprint of the work we do, Arise now offers consulting services to train and equip others in our programmes, and impact more children to bring about thriving families. We do this through 3 ways: - Family Strengthening Services - Adoption Support Services - Training and Consulting Services

Rise Stronger Holiday Club: Empowering Teens! Our recent Rise Stronger holiday club was a huge success! 🎉 We worked with 30 at-risk teens, helping them discover their identity, build self-esteem, and establish strong values. One teen shared, "I want to be different. I want to be successful. I know this will help me get there!" 💪We were touched by the inclusion of a young girl in a wheelchair and the bravery of teens who disclosed experiences of abuse. Thanks to our amazing donors, we provided meals and ended with a fantastic party! 🎂 A special shoutout to Heideveld Presbyterian Church & BRAVE Rock Girl for their continued partnership. We can't wait to see where our teens go from here! 🚀 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord... - Jeremiah 29:11 #AriseNGO #RiseStronger #EmpowerTeens #CommunitySupport #ThankYou

We're thrilled to share that Arise recently hosted an impactful Child Protection Workshop for the dedicated staff at an Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre in Kensington. This enriching session covered essential topics such as: 🔹 The Importance of Child Protection: Emphasizing why safeguarding our children is crucial. 🔹 Trauma-Informed Principles: Equipping staff with the knowledge to create safe environments. 🔹 Children's Act 38 of 2005: Understanding legal frameworks to protect children. 🔹 Child Protection Policies: Key elements for comprehensive safety measures. 🔹 Reporting Children at Risk: Effective protocols for immediate action. 🔹 Community Mapping: Highlighting the role of community support. Despite the heavy subject matter, the workshop was a time of lively discussion, interactive learning, and collaboration. Together, we're not only ensuring the safety of our children but also providing invaluable support to everyone involved in their lives. 🌍💪 Email training@arisefamily.org to know more!! #ChildProtection #TraumaInformedCare #CommunitySupport #ECD #AriseNGO #Kensington #SafeguardingChildren #Empowerment
