Rise Stronger Holiday Club: Empowering Teens! Our recent Rise Stronger holiday club was a huge success! 🎉 We worked with 30 at-risk teens, helping them discover their identity, build self-esteem, and establish strong values. One teen shared, "I want to be different. I want to be successful. I know this will help me get there!" 💪We were touched by the inclusion of a young girl in a wheelchair and the bravery of teens who disclosed experiences of abuse. Thanks to our amazing donors, we provided meals and ended with a fantastic party! 🎂 A special shoutout to Heideveld Presbyterian Church & BRAVE Rock Girl for their continued partnership. We can't wait to see where our teens go from here! 🚀 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord... - Jeremiah 29:11 #AriseNGO #RiseStronger #EmpowerTeens #CommunitySupport #ThankYou

Celebrate "Be Kind to Humankind Week" Concluding on August 31st, the national observance of "Be Kind to Humankind Week" has encouraged us to reflect on how we can positively impact the world around us. Demonstrating kindness is remarkably uncomplicated. Whether it's sharing a kind word with a loved one, offering a compliment, or engaging in community volunteering, these actions empower us to actively embrace acts of kindness. The Paving the Way organization is dedicated to educating and preventing the exploitation of children in human trafficking. Sadly, children caught in exploitation often experience profound loneliness. To parents, we urge you to instill consideration in your children and encourage them to extend a helping hand when needed. Such gestures can create a transformative impact in the life of a vulnerable child. Curious about the science of kindness? Research underscores its potential to extend life span! Beyond that, kindness cultivates peer acceptance and serves as a potent antidote against loneliness. https://lght.ly/4pgb17e #Educate #Empower #Prevent #EndChildExploitation #EndIt Paving the Way: https://lght.ly/e44gmfl Parent Tool Kit: https://lght.ly/mdp8gk6 https://lght.ly/268flda

I want to kick off April and take a moment to recognize Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month. More than 5.6 million Americans are living with limb loss and limb difference. 🦾🦿 Ways anyone can recognize LLAM: 1. Advocate for legislative inclusive change 2. Talk to community leaders about inclusive playgrounds 3. Promote ADA standards in the community 4. Support disability-owned businesses 5. Donate to organizations that advocate for those with disabilities 6. Hire people with disabilities 7. Create inclusive spaces for everyone For the limb loss community: 1. Participate in a support group (The one I co-host is the last Tuesday of each month) 2. Participate in “show your mettle day” 3. Challenge assumptions

Congratulations Justin Whitworth on receiving the Special Reach Star of Service! Justin is studying teacher education at Palo Alto College. He has worked as a donation attendant for 3 years at the Second Chances thrift shop and Helotes Humane Society. His hobbies include reading history and politics, going on walks, and making new friends. Justin says his favorite thing about Special Reach is that, "It is an uplifting place to volunteer. The staff, families, fellow volunteers and participants are kind members of the community. The energy and communication they bring helps bring out our comradery. Everyone leaves happy after each event." He adds, "Special Reach has solidified my decision to be a special education teacher. I've seen participants who were reluctant to try new activities and believe in themselves. I feel great joy being a volunteer at Special Reach events. I have made many friends and acquaintances in the community. I have learned many things from the teachers." We celebrate Justin for his outstanding contributions and thank him for his selfless dedication to improving our community! #specialneedschildren #takeabreak #sanantonio #volunteer #volunteersmakeadifference #community #communitysupport #communityimpact #makeadifference #specialeducation #disability #disabilityawareness #disabled #inclusion #autism #specialneeds #accessibility #autismawareness #autismspectrum #neurodiversity #love #disabilityadvocate #cerebralpalsy #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #disabilityrights #disabilityinclusion #downsyndrome #motivation #inspiration #diversitymatters

On this #DonutDay, let's take a moment to appreciate the importance of personal liberties and choices, even the small ones like enjoying a donut. As Bannerman et al. (1990) discuss in their research, the ability to make choices, big or small, is crucial for personal growth and well-being. So go ahead, indulge in your favorite donut today, and savor the freedom to choose what brings you joy. Bannerman, D. J., Sheldon, J. B., Sherman, J. A., & Harchik, A. E. (1990). 🚀 **Exciting News!** 🚀 I am proud to announce the launch of Rolling With Dads, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering and celebrating fathers everywhere! When I began my fatherhood journey, I found myself in unfamiliar territory without the necessary resources, support, and community that would help me become a better father to my son. These challenges inspired the creation of Rolling With Dads. I established this nonprofit to have a significant impact on fathers so they never feel alone or unprepared to take on parenthood. Instead, they should feel empowered and capable of building strong child bonds, be exceptional caregivers, and have a community of dads to lean on when they need support the most. Created by dads, for dads, to enrich and strengthen the families in our communities. Our work aims to: -Support: Build a strong, understanding community for dads. -Educate: Provide expert-led workshops/clinics, and expert advice on parenting, health, and wellness. -Inspire: Share powerful stories from dads around the world. Visit our website, www.rollingwithdads.org to learn more about our mission and the programs we offer to support dads through their parenting journey. Join us in honoring the vital role of fathers. Your support can make a world of difference! If you'd like to partner or collaborate around any of our initiatives or events please reach out, we're actively looking for sponsors/partners that have shared brand values. #RollingWithDads #EmpowerDads #Fatherhood #Nonprofit #Community

Writer, public speaker, and community outreach specialist Activist for the empowerment of those that experience homelessness. Writer of how we can make life beyond today better.
Where does "Pansay's Promise" come from? What lit the fire? Well it was something that was kind of handed down to me. The spirt of giving really has been handed down to be like a family heirloom. Although the experiences of giving inspired by my Nana have been worth more than any gold time piece or antique furniture set. Even a few years ago I can remember picking up my Nana from the local church. She was surrounded by her other friends who asked if she wanted to come along. Nana didn't go to this church for services. she would go to this church during the summer days to help pack bag lunches and snacks for the children who were now home from school. Giving our time, our compassion and being in the moment with the people who give back and need support is one of the most beneficial and rewarding things we can do to refill our glass. Life looks much more optimistic when we can be the reason someone has a smile. even if for only that second we hand them a bag lunch or say a kind word. We don't have to be rich to be giving. We have to be wealthy in compassion, understanding and humility., Lets offer hands up to those in our community and find ways to inspire empowerment. One person at a time. One risk factor at a time. We will empower our youth to overcome. #motivation #giving #grandmothers #community #leadershipdevelopment

💫 "A Warm Smile is a Universal Language of Kindness" It is important to teach children kindness from an early age, as it can help them to develop into caring and compassionate adults and build positive relationships. Here are some tips for developing kindness from early years: ✔ Model kindness yourself in your daily life. ✔Talk to your children about kindness and tell them that little acts of kindness can make a big difference. ✔Encourage your children to be kind to others and point out kind acts that they see or do, and praise them for being kind. ✔Give your children opportunities to be kind by volunteering, helping out at home, or simply being kind to their friends and family. ✔Reward your children for being kind maybe with a sticker, a special treat, or simply a hug. It takes time for children to learn kindness, be patient and consistent with your efforts, and you will see a difference in their behaviour over time. #kindness #teachingtips #earlychildhoodeducation #parenting

As February begins, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Native Services would like to recognize Valentine’s Day later this month and take an opportunity to celebrate the positive and enriching relationships in our lives! February is also Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month and Native Clubs continue to intentionally provide the necessary space for Native youth to engage in dialogue about teen dating violence, as well as ways to avoid it. This is an important month for Native Clubs and the youth they serve – as we acknowledge and appreciate the power of caring and loving relationships and reflect on ways to avoid negative, harmful ones. BGCA Native Services understands the dating risks that teens can face and is committed to working with Native Clubs to ensure that young people have learned the best defenses possible against this serious issue. We provide critical support resources such as our Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Discussion and Resource Guide and our Trauma-Informed Network, in which Native Club professionals can share ideas and best practices (such as ways to help youth identify the issue of abuse in relationships and determine trauma-informed communication strategies). Your financial support remains imperative as we reinforce the work Native Clubs are able to accomplish through thoughtful, balanced and culturally relevant programming which encourages teens to never settle for less than healthy and loving relationships. To show your heart for Native youth this month, please consider donating at https://NAClubs.org. #NativeClubs #TDVAPM #ValentinesDay
