Gator pitching alum Sproat selected for the MLB All-Star Futures game

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - In 2023, Brandon Sproat was the “ace” for the Gator baseball team and in a few weeks, he gets his first taste of the majors as a member of the All-Star Futures roster.
Earlier this week, Sproat was named to the All-Star Futures team for the National League. The Gator pitching alum has a 5-1 record with a ERA of 1.61 in 13 games. He has pitched nearly 70 innings of minor league ball with 76 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.97.
The right-handed hurler ended his Gator career with a 19 and 8 record. He went 17 and 7 in his last two years and threw a career high 134 strikeouts with the 2023 squad.
Sproat was drafted by the New York Mets with the 56th pick in the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft
Currently, he has a 3-0 record with the Birmingham Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the Mets.
