MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Gator gymnastics standout, Leanne Wong, has been selected as a replacement athlete for the 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Olympic Team, marking her second Olympic berth after serving as a replacement athlete for the U.S. Tokyo team in 2020.

On Sunday, Leanne Wong enhanced her scores from Day 1 in vault, balance beam, and floor exercise, narrowly missing her previous uneven bars mark by just 0.025 points.

She started the evening strongly with a flawless performance on the uneven bars. Wong made significant score improvements on both the balance beam and floor exercise events. She minimized deductions on the beam and avoided stepping out of bounds, which contributed to her strong floor score on Sunday. Wong concluded her competition with a solid landing on her Cheng vault, earning the third-highest vault score of the evening at 14.50.

The final night of the trials did not disappoint. The competition was unmatched. It comes to no surprise that, Simone Biles, who secured the all-around champion title at the trials, earned an automatic spot on the U.S. roster. The selection of the remaining four competing team members and replacement athletes, including Wong, was made by a committee.

Team USA’s roster includes:

Simone Biles

Sunisa Lee

Jordan Chiles

Jade Carey

Hezley Rivera

Leanne Wong (replacement athlete, travel)

Joscelyn Roberson (replacement athlete, travel)

Wong will travel to Paris in her role as a replacement athlete, ready to step in if needed to support Team USA in their pursuit of Olympic glory.
