BELLEVIEW, Fla. (WCJB) - Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrest a man on charges of battery by strangulation, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, and threatening a law enforcement officer with death.

Olajuwon Jordan, 37, who said his name is ‘Robert’, was arrested Sunday.

Deputies say a young woman was approached by Jordan in Belleview. He demanded she drive him to a place called “Pac and Sack”, a local gas station. At first the woman refused, but Jordan forced himself into the backseat of her vehicle. She then agreed to give him a ride to the gas station.

While she was driving, Jordan changed his mind and demanded he be driven to a different location. When the woman told him no, Jordan put her in a chokehold from the backseat. The woman’s friend was in the passenger seat, and hit Jordan so he would let go.

When deputies later approached Jordan, he did not comply with them. The deputies claim he was highly intoxicated. After he was placed under arrest, deputies found a rocky substance, and a powdery substance. The substances tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl.

While driving Jordan to jail, deputies claim Jordan said “I will kill myself and kill you”, and “don’t slip”, which is often referred to as another way to say ‘watch your back’.

Robert is currently being held at the Marion County Jail.
