UPDATE: Huntsville Utilities says service has been restored to most customers in Madison, Monrovia areas

UPDATE:

Huntsville Utilities says service has been restored to most of the customers in the previously reported area.

However, there are some customers in the area of the intersection of Bishop Road and South View Drive that are still without service, and will not have service until crews complete their repairs.

The utility company confirmed the outage was caused by a tree that fell across power lines on Bishop Road.

From earlier:

Huntsville Utilities says they are responding to a power outage in the Madison/Monrovia area.

The outage is impacting customers from Blake Bottom Road south to University Drive and from Nance Road east to Indian Creek Road/Providence Main Street. According to their outage map, about 1,804 customers are affected.

Service will be restored as quickly as possible.

The utility company says there is a report of a downed tree in this area, but it has not been confirmed as the cause.
