A fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle occurred just after 7 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and U.S. Highway 231.
The Marshall County Coroner's Office reported that Blake Hicks, 27, of Arab, the motorcycle driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. Carolyn Thompson, 75, of Joppa, who was driving the car, was transported to Marshall Medical Center North, where she was later pronounced dead.
A passenger in the car was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the accident. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Brindlee Mountain Fire Department, and Marshall County Coroner's Office Chaplain Service assisted at the scene.
