Traffic stop leads to drug arrests in Morgan County

A Lacey’s Spring man is facing bonds totaling $256,000 after a traffic stop led to drug charges for him and a Lacey’s Spring woman.

According to the Priceville Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop near Highway 67 and Deer Road for a minor traffic violation about 4 p.m. Monday.

A field investigation was conducted during the stop, and both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody as a result.

Darren Keith Davis, 60, was charged with trafficking fentanyl, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say Davis was also issued citations for running a red light, stopping standing in intersection, and seatbelt violation.

Whitney Nichole Gonzalez, 28, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $500. Police say Gonzalez was also issued a citation for seatbelt violation.

Both were booked in the Morgan County Jail.
