MADISON, ALABAMA – The Los Angeles Angels assigned right-handed pitcher Sam Bachman to the Rocket City Trash Pandas on a rehab assignment on Tuesday.

This puts the Trash Pandas roster at 28 players.

Bachman began the season on a rehab assignment with ACL Angels where he started in four games, posting a 1.35 ERA and nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched.

After starting the 2023 season in the Trash Pandas rotation, Bachman appeared in 11 games for the Angels in their bullpen. He finished the season with a 1-2 record and a 3.18 ERA. Bachman became the 18th former Trash Panda to make his major league debut.

The righty is one of five players on the current Trash Pandas roster with major league experience.

Bachman has started in 18 games for the Trash Pandas from 2022-2023, ranking seventh in Trash Pandas history.

Drafted by the Angels with the ninth overall pick in 2021, Bachman is one of five Angels first round picks who have spent time with the Trash Pandas. That list includes outfielder Jordyn Adams, pitcher Reid Detmers and infielders Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel.

Bachman was drafted out of Miami (OH) where he was a two-time First-Team All-MAC member and was the 2019 MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year.
