Crestwood Medical Center's new emergency department

Crestwood Medical Center's new emergency department is located off Highway 53 at Burwell Road in Harvest.

A new stand-alone emergency department is now open to serve rural North Alabama communities.

Crestwood Medical Center's newest facility will help serve typically underserved communities in Madison, Limestone, and southern Tennessee counties.

This new department is fully staffed with local nurses and doctors, all from Crestwood Medical Center. It has 10 treatment rooms and access to labs, CT scans, MRIs, and X-rays.

This is a fully functioning emergency department, and Emergency Medical Director Dr. Rick Koler says he and his staff are looking forward to helping these communities.

"Everyone's anxious, everyone's really excited, and they're anticipating, hopefully, a decent response," Koler said. "We know we're ready, we've got state-of-the-art equipment, we've got people that are really well trained, and we are excited to get things started."

Ambulances will take patients to this department and will be able to send people to the main hospitals in town if they need to be admitted.

This facility is now open 24/7 and is located off Highway 53 at Burwell Road in Harvest.
