WAAY Goes Red: Heart Health & Eating Habits

Eat more color

Source: American Heart Association

Making small changes to your eating pattern can help boost your heart health.

The American Heart Association says making good food and drink choices should be simple. An easy first step to eating healthy is to include fruits and vegetables at every meal and snack, all forms work, fresh, frozen, canned and dried!

Also, don't be afraid of adding color to your plate, in fact the more the better!

You can also look for the Heart-Check mark when you're in the grocery store. The American Heart Association's Heart-Check Food Certification Program is designed to help you make informed choices about the foods you buy. When you see the mark, you can be confident that a product aligns with the American Heart Association's recommendations for an overall healthy eating pattern.
