Maddie McCaffrey

Maddie McCaffrey was born and raised in Atlanta and is a proud 2023 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Grady school of Journalism.

Throughout her time at UGA, she was heavily involved in Grady Newsource, a student-run broadcast news organization. There, she covered a variety of news from education, politics and community focused stories.

Last year she spent her summer in Washington, D.C., as a participant in UGA’s Grady D.C. program. There she had a political communications internship, took classes and learned from professionals in the journalism and public affairs field.

This past spring Maddie interned in Augusta, Georgia at WRDW News, preparing for her career as a multimedia journalist.

Maddie is grateful and excited to be a part of WAAY 31. She looks forward to connecting with people in North Alabama, telling impactful stories and bringing you Coverage You Can Count On!
