- The tours follow carefully planned routes, avoiding busy streets and traffic and riding mainly on bike paths, down Gothic alleyways, through parks and along the beach, so just pedal and enjoy the ride.
- Weather:
- The tours go out rain or shine. Rain ponchos are provided in wet weather. It's a good idea to bring along some sun protection in the summer and something warm to wear in the spring and fall.
- Bikes:
- You will love our bikes; they're so fun and easy to ride! They have 3 speeds, wide handlebars, big tires, super-comfortable seats and, of course, bells. Everybody loves bells. Kid bikes are also available on request.
- Group sizes are guaranteed to 9 guests or less
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund

Our tour was lead by Sofia, who was a wonderful guide, who was highly informative, and who also made our party feel safe and looked after on the roads.
Our party did he morning tour, leaving at 10:00am. This meant that it wasn't too busy and wasn't too hot when we began. The more comfortable and familiar you are cycling, the better, as this tour does eventually go through some busy areas of the city - even with the cycle lanes, the traffic and pedestrians can get hectic towards the middle of the day. However, this tour does take family groups, and will tend to group people of similar abilities, so nobody need fear they'll be left behind.
Throughout the tour, there are numerous opportunities to walk around certain sites and get photos, particularly Parc de la Cituadela and Basilica de la Sagrada Familia.
The tour is informative about the history of the region, its art, architecture, politics and culture in general.
If you can, I would suggest booking this early in your visit, as it's an excellent way to quickly see the sights and get a feel for which areas you'd like to revisit in even more depth in your own time, be that the museums, temples, restaurants or beaches. Sofia was even kind enough to share a list of recommendations for sights and food (including veggie options, which suited our party), as well as pointing places out as we cycled across the beautiful city.

We had Sam as our guide and he was really great, funny, truly knowledgeable and visibly into doing what he loves. We got plenty of tips and suggestions from him and an amazing day biking around beautiful Barcelona! Thank you Sam and everyone at Fat Tires for making this possible. P.S Bikes were great for both adults and kids (My 9 year old daughter had a great time).

Did a 3 hour bike tour with Alvaro and he was absolutely amazing. My wife and I have been traveling all over the world for 35+ years and he might have been the best tour guides ever. It obviously helps that he is a native English speaker, but speaks fluent Spanish, and seems to be fully integrated into the local Barcelona community and his Spanish->Mexican-->Texas heritage. His ability to plunge deep in intriguing, cultural heritage with big topics such as politics, art, architecture, religion, and wars while always balancing the vibe to not get too heavy, was unmatched. We would follow him anywhere!!!

Loved this tour! Our favourite way to see the city. Sonja was a great tour guide, very engaging, friendly and knowledgable about the city and its history. We went on the tour on our first day in Barcelona and picked up lots of tips and recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Would 100% recommend this tour.

The half day bike tour was a perfect intro to the city of Barcelona for our family of four. The route was well thought out and we covered a ton of sites. Our guide Kyra was knowledgeable and fun. She showed us hidden gems that blew our mind. I would highly recommend this bike tour for a fun filled day with great company.

This trip was advertised as no more than 9 people but our group had 10 plus the guide. A group of 11 bikers is just too large to get around Barcelona safely and efficiently. We were often split up at lights, and had cars honking and people yelling at us. This tour also allows all ages, which is great for young families but makes it even more tricky for the poor guide to manage, ours spent the entire time focused on a young girl who didn’t know how to bike well. We went on another bike tour in San Sebastián that capped number of guests to 6, had a minimum age and recommended height recommendations and overall a much better experience. I will say our guide did a heroic job given the difficult setup, and did a really nice job explaining the sites.

Had an educational and entertaining afternoon bike tour with Samuel our fearless leader. Learned a lot about Catalonian and Spanish history and saw some amazing sites, including many we would not have had time to visit. Ride was well paced, orderly, safe, and fun. Would recommend and likely do again in another city!

What is the difference between the Barcelona tour and the small group tour?

I am looking at booking an 11.00am tour on a Saturday but have tickets for a Barcelona game at 4.00p.m. allowing for finish time and getting to the ground will i have enough time?

Agree it’s possible but does depend on how long the lunch goes. Maybe if you let the tour guide know he will move the group along. I believe we were back at the original meeting point by 3:30pm.

Water bottles were available for purchase, but not provided free. There was a rack on the back of the bike with straps to hold water bottles.

they typically operate year round BUT whatever you do be super vigilant about guarding your belongings, NEVER leave anything in an unguarded vehicle... pick pockets and thieves are extremely prevalent in and around Barcelona and are unbelievably brazen and will strike at any time !!
